Here the BC-1 power amplifier featured in Chapter 4 of Designing Audio Power Amplifiers is described in detail. The BC-1 is a bipolar design with 2 output transistor pairs that is conservatively rated at 125 Watts into 8 Ω and is scalable to well over 150 Watts with appropriate power supply and heat sinking. It is a high-current design that performs well into 2-Ω loads. 20-kHz THD+N at 100 W into 8 Ω is 0.004%. Printed wiring boards are available for this design.
